Although recent events at Goshen have been the cause of many tears, this is not a time to be downhearted. Since the fire, an enormous number of people have been working around the clock to resolve matters. Rest assured, we are all determined to keep B.M.O.G.C. running and to return to the fray as soon as possible.

WE HAVE MOVED TO A NEW ADDRESS. PLEASE CLICK THIS LINK TO VIST BURYGYMNASTICS.ORG.UK TO VIEW ALL THE LATEST NEWS.
7th November
There have been one or two little problems regarding the electricity supply to the new   gym. Those nice people at United Utilities have been asked to move things along asap but you know how these things are.
As I write, we have no firm date for the move to the new premises but, hopefully, the neccessary work will be completed in time for us to move by 26/11/07.
Until then, traing times   and venues remain unchanged with one exception. .. The Friday class at 7.O'clock at Woodhey H.S. will no longer be available. If you attend this class and you haven't been contacted already, you can attend either the 5pm or 6 pm classes on a Monday or a Friday.
Mike.

The Gym Club Management Committee are pleased to advise that suitable temporary premises have been found in the Bury Bridge area of the town.
Representatives of the Club, Bury Metro, and the landlords' agents are currently endeavouring to move matters forward at the fastest possible pace and further information will be provided as soon as it is available.
This is very positive news and a big step forward for the club.
Ther are a lot of other things that I simply haven't had the time to post yet but I'm sure you will all be pleased with this news. Thanks to Keith Waddington who has worked tirelessly with Neil Long and Bury Metro to bring us to this point so soon after the fire.

BURY GYM CLUB REDEVELOPMENT UPDATE - JULY 2007

As many of you will know a suitable temporary building for a gym has been found located at Bury Bridge Trading Estate just a few minutes from the Town Centre.

The building itself is an industrial warehouse of approx 10,000 sq ft and is owned by British Waterways who are prepared to lease it to Bury Metro for a 2 year period. We hope to have photos on the website soon.

The Local Authority planners have been consulted and, whilst the unit is not designated for the purposes we wish put it to, they are, due to the special circumstances, able to recommend approval of the planning application when submitted.

Bury Metro have, therefore, instructed their Property Services Department to liaise with British Waterways representatives and to agree heads of terms and move forward with the contractual requirements.

As a Gym Club, in parallel with the above, we have now met with both an architect and Continental Sports to produce drawings for the required fit out works i.e. changing facilities, toilets, office, viewing area, as well as detailing the gym equipment layout.

All of the above is being carried out with the knowledge of both the Authority's and our Insurers/Loss Adjustors who ultimately are picking up the bill.

We have a targeted completion date sometime during September 2007.

As regards the replacement of Goshen Sports Centre a design brief has been prepared by the Club, discussed with Bury Metro architects, and a sketch scheme is currently being produced.   This scheme will then be costed and discussions held on the funding requirements.
